Fundamental and inherently interrelated aspects of animation

image of Fundamental and inherently interrelated aspects of animation

This paper shows in detailed ways how animation is the evolutionary and existential ground floor of our being alive in the world and making sense of it, and thus how animation is the proper point of departure not only for basic understandings of perception, affectivity, cognition, meaning, movement, and world, but for basic understandings of the natural interrelationship of these dimensions of life. In the process of doing so, it takes a critical look at certain conceptual approaches that deflect us from a proper recognition and understanding of these multi-faceted realities of animation, or in other words, from being true to the truths of experience. Keywords: species-specific kinetic/tactile-kinesthetic invariants; meaning; movement; synergies of meaningful movement; qualitative structure of movement; embodied/embodiment; motorology; semantic congruency; dynamic congruency
