At the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century the tech­nique of logical and grammatical analysis for the purpose of Spanish didac­tics began to be introduced into Spain as an imitation of neighboring France. Most “modern” grammarians included this technique generally into their works, as a widening of syntax. Nevertheless, it was not until 1843 that a gram­mar manual explicitly included this term, as Ramón Merino did in his Principios de análisis lójico. This paper is an approach to this work and the educa­tional con­text of the period in which it was produced.
