Abstract

SummaryThis article examines duration-specific verbs in Korean, i.e. the verbs which introduce an complement of duration no matter its syntactic position wihin the sentence. We can count about twenty duration-specific verbs. We will focus, here, on verbs with a sentential complement P dei-ei « for that P ». We study the syntactic properties of these verbs, as well as the distributional properties of the constituents of this type of elementary sentences. We aim, finally, at representing various uses and constraints in the form of automata for the recognition of the expressions concerned.
