Abstract

Resumen

El uso de la metáfora conceptual es un método prolífico para la creación de neologismos en el lenguaje científico. Muy a menudo, la traducción y la transmisión conceptual de estas metáforas desde el inglés, la , se utiliza para crear nuevos términos en otros idiomas, entre ellos el árabe. En este trabajo, se han aplicado principios de la teoría de la Terminología Basada en Marcos (Faber, 2012) para estudiar la metáfora conceptual del ‘blanqueo del coral’, y para examinar las consecuencias de la transferencia desde el inglés hacia el árabe de este término y los elementos del marco subyacentes. Todo ello permite observar el fenómeno denominado en la lengua y cultura receptoras (Bordet, 2016). Los datos se han obtenido a través de un análisis terminológico contrastivo, basado en un corpus de textos especializados en el subdominio del cambio climático.
